Founded in 2019 by Ravi Prasad, who has worked in Ayurvedic medicine and skincare for over three decades, Almora Botanica applies scientific research and clinical testing to carefully chosen Ayurvedic plants.

Just launched at 14 Dover Street, Almora Botanica is a natural vegan skincare brand complete with 7 products created to either prevent or repair skin damage. The products use powerful adaptogenic ingredients in the formulas, helping the skin to rebalance and adapt to any individual’s needs. The high-impact formulations use the purest botanicals sourced from nature to deliver supple, nourished skin.

Special attention has been paid to adaptogenic ingredients – such as borage seed and centella asiatica leaf extract – which strengthen collagen networks, smooth skin surfaces, and maintain epidermal balance while moisturising and nourishing the skin. Illustrating the brand’s commitment to nature, a powerful plant-based adaptogenic retinol extracted from molecularly distilled organic sunflower oil is used in products, such as the Nourishing Night Face Oil. Clinical trials for this product found that 100% of the skin felt more hydrated and nourished after 45 days of use, with 100% of participants agreeing that the appearance of the skin was healthier and plumper.

The formulations are made up of 98.5%-100% natural-origin ingredients, sourced from the highest quality and cleanest possible sources.

TheChicGeek says,

“I tried a selection of the brand’s oils – Serum for Fine Lines, Radiance Day Face Oil and Restorative Night Face Oil. The first two I layered after washing my face in the day, and the last one I used at night.

These are generous sizes for oils, which is great, and the consistency makes them easy to apply and leaves a feeling of generosity.

Oils can move down the face into the eyes, but there wasn’t any irritation.

The Restorative Night Face Oil has a gourmandy scent, like a nut oil, while the day products felt like I still needed a moisturiser or SPF on the top.

It would have been nice to have more information and direction for the brand’s face yoga. The sample box contained Gem Mushroom Gum Sha stones, but I wasn’t really clear what to do with them and whether they worked with the product. The website didn’t have any obvious additional instructions either.

I like the idea of products that mix wellness and the idea of reducing stress. Nothing will make you feel and look better. The prices are premium but the generous sizing more than makes up for this.”
