Following the success of its Piccadilly Arcade store in St James’s, which began as a pop-up and which is now permanent, menswear brand, Neem London is adding an additional store in East London’s Spitalfields.
As with the existing store, the 10 Market Square location, on the edge of the historic Spitalfields Market, provides a showcase for other ecological brands. It houses installations of circular furniture, and everything in the store is being upcycled – there will be nothing wasted or thrown away. The Neem+ Ecological Emporium will be housed in the 1,500 square ft space for at least four months, with the view of going permanent.
Named after the beautiful neem tree in India, famed for producing leaves with healing properties, the eponymous brand is designed as an antidote to the modern ways of consumption – the antithesis of fast fashion. Neem London champions ‘Power Casual’, low emitting menswear, designed to achieve a cleaner way of living.
Commenting on the new store, Neem London founder, Nick Reed said, “We are hugely excited to take the concept of the Neem Ecological Emporium to Spitalfields. Our pop-up at Piccadilly Arcade was supposed to be a short term takeover, however it has been such a success that it is now permanent. Having a bricks and mortar space in which to meet our customers and talk to them about the brand has been invaluable and it is now set to continue into another iconic part of London. It will be great to see where this one takes us and we very much look forward to it.”
TheChicGeek says,
“Neem London is becoming one of the go-tos for more thoughtful and responsible menswear. Opening on the other side of London will give the brand the added exposure it deserves.”
