BIOEFFECT is the cult Icelandic skincare brand using biotechnology and Barley EGF – said to have results comparable to botox – cultured in an ecologically-engineered greenhouse in Iceland powered by sustainable geothermal energy. The EGF Serum delivers proven results with only 7 pure ingredients. Other products in the range are the Hydrating Cream and the EGF Essence, a light, hydrating face essence enriched with EFG, a volcanic exfoliator, body serum, face masks and pure Icelandic water to prep the skin for serum and moisturiser.

Tried tested men's bioeffect moisturiser serum expert review

BIOEFFECT – EGF Serum – 15ml – £129, Volcanic Exfoliator – 60ml – £32, Hydrating Cream – 50ml – £95, EGF Eye Serum – 6ml – £69

TheChicGeek says, “BIOEFFECT was founded by three Icelandic scientists when they discovered, after over a decade of research, a way to produce plant-based EGF – Epidermal Growth Factor – in barley plants. This looks, feels and is premium. I tried and tested the serum, moisturiser, exfoliator and eye serum. Both the serum and moisturiser had a nourishing and mattifying effect on my skin, leaving it feeling healthy, fed and hydrated. The exfoliator had a slightly nutty/almondy fragrance, but I feel it needs slightly more abrasiveness or foaming to feel more exfoliator-like. The eye serum could be easily applied with a soothing steel rollerball.

This range is fairly pricey so you might not want to buy the entire selection. If I was going to choose 2 standouts, it would be the Serum and the Hydrating Cream.”
