G.H.BASS is pleased to announce its latest collaboration with designer, Nicholas Daley. The G.H.BASS x Nicholas Daley collaboration reinterprets the classic Weejuns® Larson with a Super Lug sole, the new lightweight EVA lug sole. They are hand-crafted by artisans in El Salvador using time-tested tubular moccasin technique that George Henry Bass established in 1876 to ensure the utmost comfort. The strap and counter have been modified with a new shape and lengthened.
The shoes come in two colourways: navy with silver hardware and chocolate with antique brass hardware. Complete with a mixture of leathers such as suede, croc and a burnished leather for an added two-tone effect with a brushed and polished finish. Hand-stitched with contrasting thread and enriched by a cross blanket stitch on the toe cap, the shoes are finished with golden embossed branding on the inside sole.
The shoes are part of Nicholas Daley’s AW23 collection titled ‘Roots To Rebel’, which was presented at London Fashion Week in February 2023. A collection reflecting on the development of Afro Caribbean diasporic subcultures in the U.K. and as is the Nicholas Daley way, music sits at the core of the collection.
TheChicGeek says,
“Loafers have become the smart casual go-to for fashionable men. Neither too smart nor too casual, they work with any outfit from the suit to the jean. I met Nicholas Daley when he was first starting out at the CIFF tradeshow in Copenhagen. He mixes his dual heritage and produces retro influenced pieces that have a reggae coolness. This small collab. is extremely wearable, updating classic Weejuns yet remaining timeless like the originals.”
