Cifonelli, the esteemed couture house with a rich 140-year legacy of exceptional tailoring and groundbreaking designs, proudly announces the grand opening of its latest Parisian boutique. Nestled within a magnificent five-story townhouse at 35 Rue François 1er, in the heart of the eighth arrondissement, this boutique epitomizes sartorial elegance and sophistication.
Founded in 1880 by great-grandfather Giuseppe Cifonelli in Rome, Italy, the house of Cifonelli has passed down its family traditions and values from generation to generation. Currently helmed by great-grandson Lorenzo and cousin Massimo Cifonelli, the fourth generation of the family, Cifonelli continues to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques, ensuring its place at the forefront of luxury tailoring.
The new flagship store on Rue François 1er pays homage to Cifonelli’s heritage while embracing innovation. Housed in a space once occupied by Radio 37 and later by renowned Parisian couture houses, the boutique showcases two of Cifonelli’s lines: ready-to-wear and made-to-measure. Each garment is meticulously crafted with premium materials and attention to detail, embodying the essence of couture.
Among the highlights of the ready-to-wear line are signature pieces like the iconic “Six by one” double-breasted blazer and the sophisticated three-piece suit with a crossed vest. Lorenzo Cifonelli, Head of the House, remarks, “Our ready-to-wear line serves as a gateway into the world of Cifonelli, embodying the couture spirit of the house.”
Designed by renowned interior designer Elliott Barnes, the boutique’s interior reflects a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. Barnes’ vision, inspired by the concept of “the presence of absence,” creates a backdrop that accentuates the timeless lines of Cifonelli’s creations.
Cifonelli’s couture line remains housed within its historic workshops at 31 Rue Marbeuf, a stone’s throw away from the new boutique. Here, clients can have their wardrobe essentials custom-made to their taste and measurements, reflecting the epitome of luxury and personalization.
The grand opening of the new flagship store marks an exciting chapter in Cifonelli’s journey, as the house looks forward to expanding its influence on the global fashion scene. More on Cifonelli.
